i. 1st world war - the effects of the war caused misery people were heavily taxed, price were so high, famine which maked the conditions more worsened.

ii. rowlatt act - which allowed the imprisonment of people with or without any reason. this invited a large scale protest all over the country.

iii. jalliawala bagh massacre- where the british forces fired over the innocence people causing more than 1000 deaths and many injured which resulted in widespread protest.

iv. khilafat movement - which was caused to the inhuman treatment to turks which hurt the sentiments of indian muslim and they started a powerful movement known as khilafat movement.
