The civil dis-obedience movement which was started in 1930, which was supported by the indian industrialist like G.D birla. this movement was widely spread all across the country and a large scale of women pariticipation was significant during this movement. Some major reasons for this movement was :

- The viceroy, lord irwin had refused to accept the proposal of total independence.

- Viceroy rejected the following demands : reduction in the rate of exchange, land revenue, a total ban on drinking liquor, withdrawl on salt tax, release prisoners who refrain from violence.
